Applications are invited for the following position at Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, serving persons of all ages with developmental, physical, behavioural, geriatric, psychological, and/or psychiatric problems. The Centre also serves youth with behavioural and social challenges who reside in small option homes in the local community.

Psychologist
Psychologist works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide psychological assessment, behavioral consultations, psychosocial rehabilitation, and crisis intervention. The successful candidate would also have the opportunity to provide leadership in program development and program evaluation. Applications are invited for two positions:
1) Psychologist:
Area of practice - Child (0.8 F.T.E.) - serving youth with behavioral and social challenges who reside in small option homes, as well as providing consultation to children through our outreach program.
2) Psychologist:
Area of practice - Rehabilitation Consultant (1.0 F.T.E.) - provide consultative services to a wide range of clients in residential care, as well as participate in outreach services, team development, program evaluation and program support.
Qualifications:
Masters or PhD in Psychology, registered or eligible for registration in Nova Scotia with NSBEP. Experience and interest in working with individuals with multiple challenges and in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Other Positions
Staff Nurse - Part-time
- Must be a graduate of baccalaureate program in nursing or diploma in nursing/psychiatric nursing and eligible for registration in Nova Scotia. Completion of a leadership or comparable course, or willingness to complete same.
- Possess analytical and critical thinking skills that will enhance problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates creativity and flexibility in approaching issues/concerns and implements best practices.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in areas of client care practices, as related to persons with psychiatric illnesses, mentally and physically handicapped and behaviour challenges.
- Completion of certificate/credit courses in Gerontology is an asset.
- Experience in a psychogeriatric setting is an asset.

Licensed Practical Nurses Full & Part-time
- Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nurses' program and currently registered in Nova Scotia.
- Must demonstrate leadership skills in coordinating client programs.
- Possess and demonstrate by example analytical and conceptual thinking, interpersonal skills, relationship building, client service orientation, self-control, sharing knowledge and developing potential in others, and information seeking.
- Experience with persons who have intellectual disabilities, severe and persistent mental illness and past work experience in residential settings would be an asset.
- Possess personal values such as respect, dignity, empowerment and tolerance in conjunction with KRRC values and philosophy, and hold in confidence all matters pertaining to clients, staff and KRRC.
- Must also demonstrate accountability and punctuality.

- CPR
